It has been one year since Cleaver Fulton Rankin launched its dedicated Legal Technology Group, offering a range of eDiscovery and managed document review solutions to NI clients and GB law firms. The Group is also driving innovation and digital transformation internally with a number of ongoing initiatives.
Since its launch in August 2021, the Legal Technology Group has carved out a reputation for pioneering innovation in the NI legal sector, receiving recognition at several industry awards.
The launch and success of the Legal Technology Group led Cleaver Fulton Rankin to be shortlisted for ‘Excellence in Innovation’ at the Belfast Telegraph Business Awards while Innovation and Legal Technology Director, Kerry McCloy, picked up the award for ‘Outstanding Innovation’ at the Women in Business Awards 2022.
Earlier in 2022, Kerry McCloy was also appointed as the inaugural Chair of the Law Society of Northern Ireland’s Law Tech Working Group. This recently established Group supports the solicitors’ profession in their drive towards innovation and legal technology adoption across the profession.
Over the last 12 months, the Legal Technology Group has grown significantly with a number of external hires who, together with existing staff, have undertaken specialist and bespoke legal technology training. The Legal Technology Group now has a dedicated team of project managers, solicitors and legal professionals. The Group plans to expand in the near future with additional hires and service offerings. Notably, the team has been central in the delivery of vital evidence gathering for the Muckamore Abbey Hospital Inquiry, for which Cleaver Fulton Rankin was appointed to act in early 2022.
