Hearing Aid Support Service – Ballyclare

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council in partnership with the Royal National Institute for Deaf People RNID is excited to announce the launch of a new hearing aid support service. Why not join us for one of our free drop-in sessions at Ballyclare Town Hall on the last Thursday of each month, where our friendly team of hearing aid specialists will be on hand to provide you with a range of services, including:

  • New batteries
  • Cleaning and re-tubing of ear-moulds
  • Information on how to look after and fit hearing aids
  • Signposting to other services

The service is open to all NHS hearing aid users aged 18 and over, regardless of location. To attend a session, simply call in to Ballyclare Town Hall on the last Thursday of each month: 29 June, 27 July, 31 August, 28 September, 26 October, 30 November and 28 December between 10am-12pm

As a strong supporter of the Deaf Community, The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Mark Cooper joined the drop-in session on 27 July.

The Mayor commented: “Our Council area is a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone, including the deaf community. I know that hearing loss can be a challenging condition to live with, but I am confident that our partnership with RNID hearing aid support service will make a real difference to the lives of many people. I would encourage anyone with a hearing aid to come along to one of the sessions, meet other people with hearing loss and get the support they need.”

As an advocate for the deaf community, The Mayor, Councillor Cooper has chosen Action Deaf Youth as one of his nominated charities for 2023/2024.

RNID is a fully inclusive charity supportng people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. RNID Near You is funded by The Department of Health – NHS to maintain and support all NHS Hearing Aid Users.”
