Agri-food companies from across Northern Ireland have had the opportunity to hear about the transformative potential of the food industry from Deloitte’s leading expert on the Future of Food.

Randy Jagt, Global & EMEA Future of Food lead at Deloitte, held a series of meetings to engage with leading companies in the local agri-food sector to discuss food system transformation and opportunities for the island of Ireland.

As part of the visit, Deloitte hosted the board of the Northern Ireland Food and Drink Association (NIFDA), including Chair Ursula Lavery MBE of Moy Park, for a discussion on growth and collaboration across the value chain.

Randy Jagt said: “As the Global Lead for ‘Future of Food’ at Deloitte, I firmly believe in the transformative potential of the food industry. From fostering regenerative agriculture practices to harnessing innovative technologies for efficient food production, distribution, and consumption – the future of food is a landscape of immense opportunities. Our vision at Deloitte is to actively participate in shaping this future, supporting our clients and partners in their journey towards a sustainable, efficient, and health-conscious food industry.”

Aisléan Nicholson, Partner at Deloitte in Belfast added: “We were delighted to be able to create an opportunity for Randy to share his insights and expertise with some of Northern Ireland’s leading food companies. Many of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector locally are global in nature, and we hope all of those we engaged with benefited from the international perspective he was able to bring.”
