Belfast Met celebrates success and resilience at annual graduation ceremonies

Belfast Metropolitan College has commended the achievements of its Higher Education students at its annual Graduation ceremony which took place in the iconic Titanic Belfast on 21st November.

One for the largest and most prestigious events in the College calendar, the celebration welcomed students, families and friends to mark this special occasion.

Graduates crossed the stage over two ceremonies on Tuesday, which recognised students from the Belfast Business School; School of Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion; School of Science, Construction and Engineering; School of Creative and Digital Technologies and School of Academic and Continuing Education. A number of staff awards were also presented on the day.

Each year Belfast Met awards an Honorary Fellowship to someone who has made an outstanding contribution in their area. This year, the Honorary Fellowship was awarded to Caitriona McCusker, Regional Market Leader at PwC Northern Ireland, in recognition of her commitment and contribution to investing in the skills and talent of the people of Northern Ireland.

Caitroina McCusker said: “It is a privilege to accept this Honorary Fellowship from Belfast Metropolitan College, whose commitment to fostering academic excellence and innovation sets the standard for institutions worldwide.

“I am hugely passionate about and committed to improving the advancement of education and skills in Northern Ireland, and am inspired to share in this celebration of skills growth and the development of our students here in NI.

“I want to congratulate all of the graduates. Their graduation is a testament to the hard work, dedication and resilience they have shown throughout their college and education journey. I wish them every success in the future as they embark on the next chapter in their lives.”

“We are delighted to welcome Cat McCusker as our Honorary Fellow this year. Cat is at the top of her field in her career and a fantastic role model to us all. We know that Cat’s commitment to investing in the skills and talent of the people of NI will inspire our students as they move onto the next stage of their personal and professional lives.
