The Victory of Culture – An exhibition of modern sculptures based on Irish mythological stories.
This exhibition is comprised of sculptures based upon Irish Mythological stories from a variety of ancient and medieval texts. Twenty of these pieces are recent and carved from turf, with two other pieces presented in bronze. Each sculpture was conceived and carved to be maquettes for full size public monuments in bronze in locations in Ireland which are relevant to the story of each sculpture. The artist is thrilled to be debuting these works in Feile an Phobail and hopes that this exhibition represents a modern and positive addition to the public expression and reclamation of our culture and language.
