Dalata Hotel Grouo Plc, operators of Maldron Hotels and Clayton Hotels, has discounted its staff room rate and doubled the discount on food and beverages for its 5,500 employees.

The discounts are part of a host of additions to the company’s already impressive suits of employee benefits.

Dalata’s people are now able to stay in any of the Group’s 53 hotels for just £60 a night and the number of rooms available at this rate has increased substantially. By the end of 2022 over 10,000 rooms were availed of by staff members across the group.

Staff can also enjoy a 50% discount (increased from 25%) on all food, hot beverages and soft drinks served at any of the group’s 53 hotels.

Additionally, Dalata has increased the budget available to its chefs to ensure a hot, wholesome and healthy meal option is always available, day or night, for staff to enjoy with their colleagues while on duty.

A renewed focus has also been placed on staff facilities with Dalata keen to ensure its people have an inviting space in which to take their breaks, build connections with colleagues and get ready fort the day ahead.

Group HR Manager, Claire Oliver said the company continues to be laser-focused on its commitment to its people.

She said: ‘As Ireland’s largest hotel operator, one of the UK’s fastest growing, Dalata Hotel Group prides itself on our commitment to a people-first approach that is as welcoming and rewarding to its staff as it is to its guests.

“Our team is made up of over 91 different nationalities, with each person bringing a unique set of personal and cultural values which really enrich our business and we want to look after and reward them all.

“Our new benefits mean our people can celebrate in our hotels with family and friends and always receive 50% off their bill or they can enjoy one rate in all cities all year round for a stay in our hotels.

“As we expand our hotel portfolio and enter new markets, our people will always be our priority and we want them to grow with us and benefit from our success.

“As we say, Dalata is a different way, a better way, and our newly enhanced benefits package doubles down on this commitment and underlines our appreciation for the hard work and effort of all our people.

“We invest in their learning and development as they are the gatekeepers and champions of our culture, and we want to ensure we remain recognised as employer of choice both now and in the future.

“In 2022, we had 695 internal promotions with 290 of these into management positions. Through our approach to training and development our people can truly build a long and fulfilling career at Dalata.”

The new benefits announced complement the extensive range of benefits already available to Dalata’s people including but not limited to, a bike to work scheme, discounted friends and family rates for hotels, performance recognition incentives, management development programmes and company pension scheme for senior managers.

The company is currently in expansion mode across the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe, with a series of hotel openings in recent years and a pipeline of openings planned through to 2026.
