County Antrim IT asset disposition (ITAD) and IT asset lifecycle management (ITALM) firm Vyta has been announced as a finalist in the prestigious Business in the Community 2024 Responsible Business Awards in the One-to-Watch category.

Vyta’s shortlisting comes soon after the Newtownabbey-headquartered company won the highly-coveted King’s Award for Sustainable Development, being one of only two companies in Northern Ireland to receive this recognition this year.

The Responsible Business Awards recognise and reward firms that are embracing the journey to build better workforces, create a sustainable economy and healthy communities.

In particular, the awards celebrate the transformational stories of businesses that demonstrate strong, inclusive leadership, innovation, and commitment to addressing pressing social and environmental issues.

Philip McMichael, Vyta Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said:

“The Responsible Business Awards are widely recognised as a major accolade for businesses dedicated to responsible practices, celebrating those that look beyond profit to make Northern Ireland a better place to live and work.

“We are delighted to be finalists in this year’s awards. As a business whose entire ethos and purpose centres around sustainability, our entry showcases the strides we have made over the last 12 months to enhance corporate social responsibility within all aspects of our business.”

Vyta has been honoured with a steady stream of awards in 2024. In May, the company won the Belfast Telegraph Commitment to ESG award whilst Vyta Founder and CEO, Philip McMichael, received the Business Eye Sustainable Business Leader award.

The next stage in the judging process for the Responsible Business Awards involves finalists attending panels on 25 and 26 June, when they will be required to present their entry to a panel of three expert judges.

The winners in each category will be announced at a gala event in ICC Belfast on 5 September.

As the 2023 winner of the Responsible Product or Service Award, Vyta Chief Commercial Officer Faye Thomas will judge the category in 2024, which is sponsored by Translink.
